英文摘要
Based on the preliminary work the project investigates ammonium and glutamine metabolism, hepatocyte heterogeneities and the role of ß1-integrin in the sensing/ signalling of cell volume changes, insulin and tauroursodeoxycholate using novel animal models. In the focus are studies on the role of the ammonium transporter RhBG, the taurine transporters TauT and GAT2, liver glutaminase (Gls2) and intercellular glutamine cycling for ammonia homeostasis. Further research topics focus on heterogeneities of perivenous glutamine synthetase-positive perivenous scavenger cells and "protein repair" of mutated glutamine synthetase.
