英文摘要
Highly fluorinated arenes currently gain significant interest as n-semiconducting materials. Until today only very few basic compounds (such as perfluorotetracene and pentacene) have been synthesized, showing very promising bulk properties. In the current project, perfluoroacenes should become substituted for the first time to attach these molecules to surfaces in form of self-assembled monolayers. For this, a suitable synthetic chemistry has to be developed first. Upon variation of suitable molecular parameters (size of the acene system, length of the linking unit, possibly adjustment of the anchoring group) their influence on the structural properties of the respective SAMs shall be explored and optimized. Such monolayer systems should show interesting electronic properties and extend the possibilities in the area of molecule-based electronics, in particular regarding n-semiconduction. The respective investigations will be performed in close collaboration with partners in particular from physical chemistry.
