This project, which started on February 2014 and is expected to be concluded in November 2016,has two main purposes: (1) to develop a personal bibliography about live, works and reception ofAlfred Döblin; and (2) to index the contents of Alfred Döblin's personal library and list it on theGerman Literature Archive's online catalog. The bibliography includes completely both the primaryand secondary literature by/about Döblin from 1905 on (the year of Döblin's first publication). It isworked out in a newly implemented tool within the Marbach research database Kallías whichallows to gather and to load catalog data in the bibliography.The bibliography along with the indexing of Döblin's personal library in the amount of 600 volumesforms a complete information system about Döblin. It is the basis for the constitution of a Directoryof the German exile libraries, i.e. a data pool about the German exile literature between 1933 and1945 and about the books owned by the exiled writers. The directory will provide current andcomplete bio-bibliographical information about the exiled writers and their libraries.
