The project analyses the securitization of foreign military operations which mandates were not substantially based on humanitarian reasons or those of alliance, but rather legitimized due to "concerns of security". The main focus of the project lies within the formation and historical change of the strategies of legitimisation on which respective terms of "security" are recurring. In the second phase of funding it is of particular importance to highlight also the conditions for the implementation of the suggested operations. The examination reveals the hitherto underestimated tight linkage of processes of securitisation and descuritisation. Hence, the project is also intended to analyze the aforementioned reciprocal effects and its impacts on a constructivist security-related research.
