Mo-Si-B alloys are a potential candidate for future high temperature applications because of their good creep properties. At the same time a low ductile to brittle transition temperature is desired.Aim of the project is to lower the ductile to brittle transition temperature with different approaches. This includes changes to the composition as well as changes to the chosen production route. Further examples are the influence of heat treatments at high temperatures as well as the difference of melt- and powder metallurgical production route. Furthermore the influence of these parameters on the microstructure should be determined. These can be done at the Scanning- and Transition Electron Microscope. Creep experiments will be carried out in order to determine the impact on microstructural changes on the creep properties of these alloys. The objective is a definite reduction of the ductile to brittle transition temperature while maintaining acceptable creep properties at the same time.
