VD 18: Digitization and Indexing of printed Material published in the 18th Century in the German-Speaking Areas (VD 18) from the collections of Mainz University Library

The project is part of the national bibliographic initiative „Digitization and Indexing of 18th Century Prints Published in the German Language Area (VD 18)” and refers to the tender of the major phase’s second section. A smaller number of VD18-database assigned materials owned by the University Library Mainz are to be digitized, cataloged and supplemented with structural data (complying with the standards developed for VD 18) and, finally, made available on the internet for free use. The University Library wants to facilitate access to those resources and thus also support DFG-Vordruck 12.011 – 02/15 Seite 3 von 5 new, digitally based usage scenarios in particular. The project is designed as a pilot scheme for the medium-term complete digital provision of the University Library’s historical stocks.
