项目摘要

本年度の研究では、複合形容詞（例「うすかたい」）と複合形容名詞（例「うすかただ」）の形態構造を支持する経験的根拠を収集し、以下の3つにまとめた。①複合形容詞に強調の促音（っ）を挿入する場合、促音は後部要素に挿入されやすいことが、執筆者のこれまでの実験研究によって明らかになっている。一方、複合形容名詞に促音を挿入する場合、促音は前部要素に挿入されやすいことが予測される。両者の促音挿入パタンの違いは、複合形容詞は、後部要素「かた」と語尾「い」がくっついてできた「かたい」に、前部要素「うす」がくっついて［うす［かたい］］ができあがるのに対し、複合形容名詞は、前部要素「うす」と後部要素「かた」がくっついてできた「うすかた」に、語尾「だ」がくっついて「［うすかた］だ］ができあがるという、両者の構造上の違いに還元されると提案した。複合形容詞と複合形容名詞では、連用修飾成分（例「かなり」）と連体修飾成分（例「かなりの」）で修飾する際に違いが出ると考えられる。注目すべきは、連体修飾成分＋複合形容名詞（例「かなりのうすかただ」）は文法的だが、連体修飾成分＋複合形容詞（例「かなりのうすかたい」）は非文になる点だ。この観察から本研究は、複合形容名詞は構造上でも名詞性を帯びると提案した。③後部要素＋「だ」という形は存在しないにもかかわらず、前部＋後部要素＋「だ」という形は存在する複合形容名詞がある（例「NG かただ」、「OKうすかただ」）。この観察も、複合形容名詞は、前部要素「うす」と後部要素「かた」が先にくっつくことを支持していると、本研究で提案した。①～③をまとめ、30th Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conferenceでポスター発表を行うことができたのが、本年度の研究成果である。この発表内容は今後 Proceedings にまとめられ、近日発行される予定である。
