项目摘要

現在でも喫煙は日本人の死亡に最も寄与している可変要因である。近年、電子タバコや加熱式タバコといった新型タバコ製品が登場し、そのことが喫煙や飲酒等日本人のライフコース全般にわたる健康行動に大きな影響を与えている。2016年10月時点においてフィリップモリス社の加熱式タバコであるアイコスは世界10ヶ国以上で販売されていたが、その販売シェアの96%は日本であり、日本が世界最大の加熱式タバコの実験場となっている。世界的な注目を集めており、日本からこそ加熱式タバコのエビデンスを出していかなければならない。本研究の目的は、日本における新型タバコに関して、（１）ライフコースに応じた詳細な使用状況（使用の決定要因の解明を含む）、（２）その他の健康行動、飲酒・肥満など様々な健康指標との関連、（３）禁煙への影響、を明らかにすることである。日本の一般住民を対象としたインターネット調査を毎年繰り返し、日本を代表するコホート研究データも活用し、新型タバコ研究を継続的に展開する。精緻な統計学手法で解析し、論文を出版し、結果として政策立案者に有益な情報提供をする。2022年度には、加熱式タバコを使っていると紙巻タバコの禁煙がしにくく再発しやすいこと（Odani 2023）、医師によるオンライン禁煙外来や保健師によるオンライン禁煙介入の効果は加熱式タバコ使用状況により異なること（Nomura 2022; Noda 2023）、加熱式タバコ使用はCOVID-19感染リスクや重症化リスクを高める可能性があること（Nishimura 2023）など新型タバコやタバコ対策に関する本研究プロジェクトに関連する論文10本以上（研究業績欄参照）をPublishし、新聞や雑誌等の記事にもなり、脱タバコメディアキャンペーンとして機能させることができた。
