项目摘要

本研究の目的は、日本におけるキリスト教系学校における教育実践内容と学校をとりまく環境について明らかにすることであった。前年度は、宗教科教員が教育実践場面において感じる葛藤を手掛かりに、この一端を明らかにした。今年度は、前年度以前より調査協力を得ている事例校から、引き続き協力を得ることができた。調査においては、新しく着任した宗教科教員へのインタビュー、宗教科の授業見学等を実施した。また、世俗化した社会においてキリスト教系学校を選択する親の動機や選好はどのようなものか、ということに関して、蓄積の多い国外の先行研究の整理を行った。まず宗教学研究において大きなテーマである世俗化論の整理をしたのち、宗教系学校の学業達成の優位性とその要因に関する研究、宗教的背景を持たない親が宗教系学校に子を入学させる動機に関する研究、さらに、宗教系学校がもつ制度的人種隔離機能を指摘した研究についてレビューを行った。そこから、世俗化したヨーロッパ社会における宗教の影響力ならびにキリスト教系学校の機能について分析した。以上は第58回日本比較教育学会大会にて「世俗化社会におけるキリスト教系学校の機能に関する考察」として口頭発表を行った。前年度までに進めてきた研究及び追加調査と国外の宗教系学校に関する先行研究レビューを統合し、本研究の分析視点を精緻化した。その結果、日本の宗教系学校・宗教科教員が置かれている状況を明確にすることができた。これによって完成したアウトラインに基づき現在博士論文の執筆を進めている。

The above was presented at the 58th Japan Comparative Education Society Conference,"An Investigation into the Functions of Educational Schools in Secularized Society." The previous year's advance research and additional surveys were conducted on foreign religious schools, and the analytical perspectives of this study were refined. As a result, Japanese religious schools and religious teachers have made their situation clear. The author of the doctoral thesis is now in the process of writing it.
