本研究では、サーベイ実験や生理指標を用いて、ジェンダーステレオタイプと有権者の投票行動の関係を明らかにすることを予定していた。サーベイ実験を用いたジェンダーステレオタイプと投票行動の研究に関しては、国際誌から研究が出版され、成果を出すことができた。かつ、2023年度は修業年限であったが、これまでの研究成果を取りまとめ博士論文を提出、2023年3月に博士（情報科学）を東北大学から授与された。2022年度は、博士論文の執筆と並行し、研究計画に基づき、ジェンダーステレオタイプと政治行動の研究を中心にサーベイ実験を実施し、論文執筆や学会発表などに取り組んだ。具体的には、ジェンダーステレオタイプが政治行動に与える影響に関する共著論文を執筆し、これがジェンダーと政治研究の国際誌であるJournal of Women, Politics & Policyに査読論文として掲載された。また指導教員らと共同で実施した地方議員に対するアンケート調査結果は、朝日新聞にて報道されるとともに、2022年12月、国際学会である韓国行政学会冬季大会にて、制度を変更することへの不安と有権者の政治的態度に関する報告を行った。この報告論文は、現在、学術誌に投稿しているところである。本研究は、当初、生理刺激を積極的に用いて研究を進めることを予定していたが、新型コロナ禍の影響を受け、研究計画の変更を余儀なくされた。被験者を募集することや場所・機材の確保が困難であったためである。しかしながら、有権者が不安を感じる政治現象や政策に係る研究を代替的に行うことによって、当初の計画とは若干異なるものの有意義な研究成果を得ることができた。また計画の変更によって、ジェンダー・クオータ制導入や電子投票・ネット投票への不安を取り扱う必要性に気づくことができた。
