项目摘要

本研究の目的は、人々のジェンダーバイアスとその政治的影響を包括的に検証し、「指導的地位」に占める者の間に大きな男女格差が生じる要因と解決策を明らかにすることである。それにより、政治や社会において男女共同参画をさらに進めるだけでなく、男女それぞれが個人として、多様な選択やキャリアの実現を可能とするための方策を考える。そのために、情報工学や法学、心理学といった異分野の研究者らと共に、議事録や選挙公報などのテキストデータを議会学習によって分析するほか、サーベイ実験などの実験的手法により因果関係の解明を目指す行動実験などを行う。当該年度においては、選挙公報のテキストデータを分析し、候補者の性別によって候補者の掲げるトピックがどのように異なっているのかについて検証した結果を学術論文として出版したほか、日本人有権者が男女の政治家に対してそれぞれどのようなジェンダーステレオタイプを抱いているのかを解明するために実施したサーベイの分析結果を学術論文として出版した。さらに、衆参両院における女性議員比率の差に注目し、なぜ参議院の方が衆議院よりも女性議員比率が高いのかについて、その要因をサーベイ実験により検証した。データ分析の結果、有権者は議決における衆議院の優越（つまり参議院の方が権限が弱いこと）を知らされると参議院議員として女性候補者をより支持するようになる一方で、参議院議員の任期の安定性について知らされると、相対的に女性の方が候補者としてより積極的に選挙に立候補しようとする意欲が高まることが明らかになった。この結果を学術論文としてまとめ、海外及び国内の学会で研究発表をした。このほか、当該年度においては、海外の研究協力者を日本に招聘し、テキストデータから発言者のトーンなどを正確に測るための辞書作成と、ジェンダーをめぐる国際比較に関する実験計画について協議した。
