今年度重点的に取り組んだ課題は、①「ずっと」の語史研究、②各副詞の語史研究から得られた個別の成果の一般化の二つである。なお、課題①は昨年度研究計画の続きである。課題②は当初の研究計画通り着手できた。課題①の成果として、擬態語「ずっと」が近世期に時間量・空間量を表す副詞および程度副詞へと変化したことが用例調査により確認できた。本研究成果については、論文投稿にむけて現在準備を進めている。課題②の成果については、今後、修正・精緻化が必要となるが、およそ以下のような見通しを得た。従来の先行論および本研究により、擬声語に由来する副詞には程度副詞（ずっと、ちょっと、もっと等）および広義の陳述副詞（きっと、ひょっと、ちゃんと等）へと変化するものが一定数存在することが示された。中でも、擬声語に由来する副詞の典型例と思しい「きっと」「ちゃんと」「ちょっと」「ずっと」は程度副詞あるいは広義の陳述副詞へと変化する語群にあたると考えられる。また、上記のことから、擬声語という語彙がより機能的な副詞へと歴史的に変化していく背景には、程度副詞や陳述副詞といった、程度性を有する表現のバリエーション拡大のために副詞が増加してきたという可能性の存在が予想される。また、擬声語がより機能的な副詞へと変化する際には「推意の表意化」が半ば共通のものとして起こりやすいことが予想される。これは、擬声語がかつては「音象徴部＋と」により、音象徴的に様態を表すという意味機能を担っていたことに起因する。つまり、擬声語は、音象徴的に様態を表すというその意味機能により、より機能的な副詞へと変化する際には共通の変化を経やすいという可能性が考えられる。課題①の成果および課題②から得られた見通しは、今後修正作業を加えていき、論文投稿にむけて準備を進めていく。
