A.パノフスキーの先駆的な研究以後、西洋近代絵画における遠近法は、近代の科学的、合理的な世界観の表現であり、さらには絵画の視覚体験を通じてそれを確立したとされてきた。本研究は近代思想史、科学史、美術史を学際的に統合して「視覚の近代性」の観念を批判的に考察し、西洋の初期近代および近代（「近代」と総称する）における視覚体験の多様性と複雑性を浮き彫りにすることで、西洋近代の視覚体験を再構成して、「モダニティ」の観念によって一面化されてきた近代西洋の多彩で豊かな知的枠組みを明らかにし、近代思想史に新しい解釈を与えることを目的とする。本年度は引き続きそれぞれの担当分野で原資料に基づく思想史的、科学史的分析を続行するとともに、近代西洋絵画の平面構成の検討を実作品に即して行い、これを現代の洋画作品の画面構成と比較した。その結果、西洋近代絵画では一般に画面の部分にもそれを切り出して鑑賞できる独立性があり、これに対して現代の具象絵画には部分の独立性が低い作品が多いことが判明した。絵画に限らず一般に芸術作品、とくに鑑賞に時間の流れがかかわる時間芸術的な作品では、部分にそれ自体の価値があり、その総合として全体が構成されているので、部分と全体の関係は近代西洋絵画に固有なことではない。むしろこの点が現代の具象絵画の特徴だと考えられる。その理由の一つは、近代までの西洋絵画が教会や宮殿等に飾られ、長時間の鑑賞に堪えるように制作されているのに対して、現代では美術館の壁面での短時間の鑑賞、批評向けであるという社会的要因が考えられる。さらにそこには、現代具象絵画が時間性を極力排除して、時空間表現という性格を薄弱にしているという内的要因も想定できる。以後はこの点に留意して、現代視覚芸術との比較という視点を導入することで、より研究を深めることとする。２

As a result, modern western painting is generally independent of the picture, and modern figurative painting is independent of the picture. The painting is limited to the general art works, the appreciation of the flow of time, the integration of the whole, the composition of the whole, the inherent relationship between the modern western painting The characteristics of modern figurative painting are studied. The reason for this is that modern Western paintings are decorated in churches and palaces, and the appreciation for a long time is made. The wall of modern art museums is short of appreciation and criticism. The main cause of society is examined. Modern figurative paintings are time-based, time-spatial, and character-based. In the future, we should pay attention to the comparison of modern visual arts and introduce them into the future. 2
