项目摘要

本研究では、日常への関心の高まりという中国文学史上の問題を、唐代後期の中唐期における社会構造の変化（世襲による貴族制から能力本位の官僚制への移行）と結びつけ、中唐文学のなかに、この時代特有の新たな価値観の胎動を読み取ることを目指す。具体的には、中唐の文人官僚が貴族とは異なり、科挙を目指して日々苦学した経験を持つことに着目し、彼らのなかに刻苦勉励を重んじる努力主義的な価値観が広く浸透していたこと、そうした価値観が苦吟という詩作の営みや、趣味・嗜好を楽しむ私的な生活様式にも表われていることを明らかにする。本年度は研究課題全体に関わる基礎的な作業として、主に韓愈と賈島の詩文を調査し、そのなかから日常生活に関する作品、勉学・読書に言及した作品を収集し、分析を加えた。その一方、前年度に学会発表を行った、祝文に関する研究を論文にまとめ、「白居易・元ジンの祝文とその周辺――唐代の祝文系作品における地方官と神霊・怪異（上）――」、「韓愈「ガク魚文」とその周辺――唐代の祝文系作品における地方官と神霊・怪異（下）――」として発表した。これらの研究は、直接的には「神廟祭祀と唐代文学」（基盤研究(C)15K02436、代表高橋文治）に関する成果だが、中唐文人の価値意識の変化を公的側面から照射したという点で、本研究課題の遂行に多くの知見と示唆を与えるものであった。白居易・韓愈らは、州県の長官として自身の職務にいかに勤勉に取り組んだのか、またその勤勉さ・切実さをどのようなかたちで文学として昇華したのか。こうした問題を、祝文を通して検討し、中唐期に高まりを見せる勤苦を重んじる志向が、官吏として書かれた公的な文章のなかに、色濃く表われていることを明確にすることができた。以上のほか、唐代文学に関する研究会・東山之會に参加し、賈島の詩の訳注作成に携わった。その成果は2023年度中に発表される予定である。
