项目摘要

令和４年度は、Svetlana BoymのDeath in Quotation Marks (1991)を中心に考察した。本著作でBoymは、19世紀末から20世紀初頭の詩人が「死」の詩学を通して実践した「作者」像の自己成型と、異なる文化的背景を持つ批評家によって語られた詩人の「死」の言説に焦点をあて、文学批評が伝統的に採用してきた「人と作品」という紋切型の議論は、書く主体（作者）とそれを読み解き論じる主体（読者・批評家）が位置づけられた自伝的、歴史的、社会的な文脈に強く影響を受けることを比較文学の見地から論じている。本著作の考察を通して、次の点を明らかにできた。（１）Boymは、芸術作品の外部を否定し、創作の主体が位置づけられた日常的なlifeの文脈と切り離す視点を、モダニズムの芸術論（特に「芸術の自律性」「作者の匿名性」「自己犠牲」）と実践、またポストモダニズムの芸術論（特に「作者の死」）に共通して見出している。（２）このようなモダニズムとポストモダニズムの視点の脱中心化が、後に「オフモダン」の概念を軸に展開された思索の始点であり、本著作では「生」の不可視化に焦点を当てて、「生」を「文学的」なものと凡庸で日常的なものに分ける境界策定の政治性を照射した点に「オフ」の要素が確認できる。（３）このような「オフ」の視点には、作者の「死」や作家の殺害が詩学やメタファーの次元にとどまらなかった全体主義社会の現実を知るBoymの自伝的要素が密接に関わっている。ソ連によるウクライナ侵攻を受け、並行して、リヴィウを舞台にしたWittlinとSandsのエッセイを収録したCity of Lions (2016)の翻訳にも取り組んだ。版権取得が難航したため当該年度内の出版には至らず、引き続き版権獲得に向けて交渉中だが、本研究における考察に有益な知見を得ることができた。

This study is intended to provide useful insights into the development of new technologies and technologies.
