バンド・デシネと呼ばれるフランス語圏のマンガに関する理論的な成果の調査、とりわけアダプテーションと呼ばれる異なるメディアにまたがるマンガ表現に関する研究に着目し、必要な文献の入手に努めた。フランス語、英語、日本語の文献を入手し、優先順位をつけたうえで精読に努めた。具体的な研究実績としては、バンド・デシネに顕著な、日本のマンガとは異なるフォーマット（ハードカバー、フルカラー、50頁以下のページ数）が「伝統」として創られてゆく過程を実証的な観点から考察し、今後のデジタル化の趨勢の予測とともに「バンド・デシネのアルバムの規範化をめぐる問題」というタイトルて『マンガ探求13講』という書物に寄稿した（小山昌宏・玉川博章・小池隆太編『マンガ探求13講』、水声社、2022年(「バンド・デシネのアルバムの規範化をめぐる問題」、279-309頁))。また、アメコミと呼ばれるアメリカのマンガ文化にも注目し、アダプテーションの観点からとりわけスーパーヒーローの実写映画の歴史や昨今の作風の変化を調査し、マンガにおける善と悪をテーマとする学部のオムニバスの授業内容に反映させるようにまとめた。アメリカにおける9.11の同時多発テロ以降のスーパーヒーローものの流行、人種や性差といった多様性を意識した作品の登場と個々の作品の特異性や今後の可能性の吟味、日本のマンガにおける勧善懲悪のスタイルの発展と特異性（永井豪の『デビルマン』や諫山創の『進撃の巨人』との比較）を考察した。

A survey of the results of the study of the relationship between the two languages and the study of the relationship between the two languages. On September 11, 2011, the author investigated the popularity, ethnic diversity, consciousness, appearance, specificity, and future possibility of the works of the Japanese people, and the development specificity of the works of the Japanese people (Nagai Hao's "" and Jiyama Chuang's "Attack Giant").
