项目摘要

2022年度は、2021年度に行った基礎的な作業を基にして、各種検討を行った。製作側視点の検討としては、これまで検討を行ってきた吉備地域・畿内地域の資料の検討を進めたほか、新たに東国地域の陶棺の系譜関係及び特性を明らかにするためにに各地へ出張し、陶棺の形態観察、およびフォトグラメトリによる三次元データを作成した。これにより、東国地域の陶棺の系譜関係及び製作技術の類似度について明らかにすることができた。採用側視点の検討としては、陶棺採用古墳の検討を行い、周辺古墳との関係、立地などの検討を行った。これにより、周辺古墳群及び古墳内の中での陶棺の採用段階および継承性を明らかにすることができ、継承性の強い地域とそうではない地域が存在することが明らかとなり、さらに副葬品構成とも相関することがあることが明らかになった。また、東国地域の陶棺の出土古墳の現地踏査を進めることができた。陶棺の彩色顔料の分析としては、國學院大學博物館所蔵の陶棺を借用・分析中である。今後畿内地域の彩色顔料を有する陶棺と比較・検討を行う予定である。研究成果の一部に関しては、採用側の検討として首長墓に採用される陶棺の首長墓系譜における意義に関する成果を古代学研究会2022年度拡大例会で発表したほか、香川県高松市内出土の陶棺について製作・採用側両者の論理を検討し、その意義を明らかにした成果を高松市埋蔵文化財センター紀要に投稿し、掲載された。
