前年度、新型コロナウィルス感染症の蔓延のため延期したアメリカ合衆国への出張に出かけ、ロックフェラー・アーカイブ・センター（ニューヨーク州スリーピーハロウ）ならびにコロンビア大学稀覯本・原稿図書館（Rare Book and Manuscript Library）（ニューヨーク市）で史料収集を行った。具体的にはロックフェラー財団やカーネギー財団が1930年代から1960年代にかけて、王立国際問題研究所（ＲＩＩＡ）（通称チャタムハウス）の姉妹機関であるオーストラリア国際問題研究所（ＡＩＩＡ。1933年設立）やオーストラリアの国際政治学者に対して行った助成に関する一次史料を収集・閲読し、それが同国の国際関係研究、ひいては米豪関係にどのような影響を与えたのか（あるいは与えなかったのか）について、検証を進めた。また、アメリカを拠点とするインターネット上の電子ディスカッション・リスト（英文）Ｈ－ＤＩＰＬＯの合評会に評者として参加し、研究課題に深く関わる日米文化外交についての研究書John Gripentrog, Prelude to Pearl Harbor: Ideology and Culture in US-Japan Relations, 1919-1941 (Lanham, MD: Rowman & Littlefield, 2021)の書評を執筆し、著者からの応答も得て、20世紀半ばのアジア・太平洋における文化的ヘゲモニーのせめぎ合いについて、考察を深めた。
