本研究は、日本企業の海外直接投資が企業内の国内雇用や賃金水準に及ぼす影響を企業の経営体制という独自の観点から考察する（研究課題１）、②直接投資元の国の政策の不確実性が企業の直接投資の実施に影響を与えるという仮説を検証する（研究課題２）ものである。2022年度は特に研究課題１について、2021年度に続き先行研究の整理、個票データの収集や整理を行った。先行研究の整理としては、日本及び海外の企業による海外直接投資による企業内や国内の雇用への影響に関する理論・実証研究を中心として、企業の海外直接投資の意思決定に関する広範囲のサーベイを継続した。さらに、個票データの収集・整理として、日本企業の海外直接投資に関する企業レベルデータである東洋経済新報社の「海外進出企業データベース2010年版・2015年版」を、さらに企業の経営体制に関するデータとして東洋経済新報社の「役員四季報データ2010年版・2015年版」も入手し、基礎的な統計分析を実施した。基礎的分析の一部については、「2010年代の日本の対外直接投資」として論文が掲載された。本研究課題１は、日本企業の経営・統治体制の違いによって、海外直接投資の決定、さらにはそれに伴う雇用などの企業活動への影響が異なる可能性について実証的に考察するものである。実証分析には、さらに海外進出企業に関する基礎的な企業情報に関するデータも入手して、データを統合して分析を行う必要があるが、そのようなデータの入手や整理に時間を要している。データの整理、基礎的な統計分析を進める一方で、既存研究等に基づき適切な実証分析手法の検討も進めている。研究課題２の実証分析についても、整理されたデータをもとに、今後あわせて実施していく予定である。
