本研究は一部住民の帰還がはじまった福島県双葉町と大熊町を事例として、帰還の現状と課題について、「共同性」をキーワードとして地域社会学の立場から実証的に明らかにしようとするものである。2022年度も12月頃までは前年度と同様にコロナ禍の影響を受け、計画どおりに研究が進展しなかった。すなわち、関係者の活動が自粛になったり、ヒアリング対象者のコロナ禍を理由としたヒアリング拒否があったりしたためにヒアリングを自粛せざるをえなかった。というのは、本研究のヒアリング対象者の多くが高齢者であるからである。ただし、ヒアリングができなかった期間には、双葉町・大熊町や「共同性」に関する先行研究の収集と論点の整理を行うことで、研究を進めた。2023年１月以降、ヒアリングが比較的自由にできるようになったことから、福島県在住の帰還を希望する関係者、帰還を希望しない関係者の双方に調査をし、資料を蓄積し、データを整理する作業を行うことができた。また、双葉町内で震災後にはじめて開催された「だるま市」や神社関係の行事に参与観察することで、震災復興祈念公園の地元自治会関係者や東日本大震災・原子力災害伝承館の語り部にヒアリングすることができた。同時に関係者の協力を得ることで、その他語り部、訴訟団原告、まちづくり団体関係者、町議会議員などにネットワークを広げることができた。2022年度までに得られたデータを整理し、2023年度にさらにヒアリングを実施することで、内容を精査し、学会報告、論文執筆などを行う予定である。
