本研究は，参加者が記銘語から想起する自伝的エピソードの特徴によって記憶が促進されるという現象に注目し，どのような自伝的エピソードが記憶を促進するのか，参加者の情動処理等の個人差によって，その記憶促進は異なるのかを検討するものである。本年度は，再生成績の高い上位群と低い下位群を比較して，想起される自伝的エピソードの違いを検討した。実験は，前年度と同じく偶発記憶手続きを用いて集団的に実施し，方向づけ課題では参加者に記銘語を視覚提示して，その記銘語から想起される過去の自伝的エピソードがあるかないかを考えさせた。挿入課題の後，偶発自由再生テストを行い，その後，記銘語から想起された過去のエピソードの属性（鮮明度，感情価（快-不快）及び懐かしさ）を評定してもらった。その結果，再生語に対応するエピソードの評定段階ごとの％をみると，どの評定尺度においても最も大きい評定段階（6）がエピソードの割合が高く，反対に非再生語に関してはエピソードの属性はばらついていることが示された。したがって，属性が自伝的精緻化の規定要因として追証され，最も高い評定段階（6）が再生・非再生を判別する属性の強度として考えられた。また，再生語と非再生語を込みにして評定段階ごとの再生確率を算出すると，鮮明度6段階で65％（他の段階は59～39），感情価6段階で71％（他の段階は54～37％），懐かしさ6段階で62％（他の段階は55～395）であった。いずれの評定尺度においても6段階での再生確率は高いことがわかる。さらに，どの評定尺度に関しても再生語に対する評定値の平均値は下位群が上位群よりも高く，上位群が必ずしも高い評定値のエピソードを想起しているのではないことが示された。ただし，上位群には鮮明度と他の2つの尺度との間に正の相関，下位群では負の相関があり，鮮明度の高いエピソードが再生を規定している可能性が示唆された。
