一昨年度、今年度の実施した研究内容は以下の理由でまだ発表する段階ではないため、具体的な研究実績となる発表は現在までにできておりません。１）研究実施計画において初年度の2021年度は「1．GISを活用し統計的な手法を用いて居住環境面から見る地域分析を行うこと」－平成16年度～19年度の調査結果を基に、その際に調査した地域で今回の調査対象地域について、各国の公開されている統計データをまず収集すること」なっている。しかし、収集した統計データをもとにした地域分析は他の現地調査や政策調査の結果と連携して分析することで、課題「エスニックアイディンティティに基づいた地域再生」の意義ある結果が得られるため、今年度も継続して統計データや政策等の整理をおこなっている。２）コロナ禍中で予備調査した結果、この渦中での現地調査する難しさがわかり、今年度は当初考えていた関東・関西圏でのエスニック商店街の調査を取りやめて学生の居住地域に近い首都圏の地域（川口市）で、外国人居住者が多く、外国人居住履歴が団地として長い芝園団地（UR都市機構）とその周辺に在る居住者を対象としているエスニック商店街（西川口駅周辺の飲食店街）への調査を実施し卒業論文としてまとめた。その結果、コロナ禍による対応が変化した今後において、居住地としての団地を対象にするよりも、当初に予定していたエスニック商店街の調査を続行する方がコミュニティの形成と都市再生の研究内容に有効であることがわかった。
