研究の第一段階として、外来・在宅リハビリテーション実施状況に関する質的調査を行った。３施設を予定していたが、感染状況を踏まえ２施設（A・B）を対象とし、研究の説明を行い協力を得ることができた。A施設においては、肺がんの手術を受ける患者の術前リハビリに関わる部門として、３部門（A-①、A-②、A-③）あり、肺がん患者のリハビリ指導経験を語れる看護師として、1年以上の経験のある者を候補者として選定した。A-①から3名、A-②から3名、A-③から1名、計７名に対して研究の目的・方法など説明を行い、研究の同意を得ることができた。それぞれの看護師と日程調整を行い、面接場所の確保をして順次インタビューを行った。7名全員からIC録音の許可が得られたが、IC器機の操作ミスなどで、うち２名はIC録音ができず、要点をメモに書き留めたもの基に具体的に書き起こした。IC録音で得られたデータは全て逐語録として起こし、分析を開始する段階にある。B施設においては、術前リハビリを行う部門として１つあり、上記同様看護師の候補者を３名選定したところである。今後、日程調整などを行い、研究の同意が得られた後、面接を行っていく予定である。更に、肺がんで手術を受ける患者に対し、外来での面接の機会を得ようと考えていたが、一日中検査などが行われ身体的・精神的負担が大きいここと以外に、次回受診の機会を介さず、入院となることがほとんどで、研究の説明や同意を得る機会が難しかった。そのため、術後、ドレーン抜去後の疼痛が軽減し、歩行が開始され、状態が安定した患者を対象に、術前のリハビリ実施状況を想起してもらう形で面接を行っていくこととした。そこで、関連病棟の師長に研究目的方法などを説明した結果、研究の協力を得ることができた。今後は、A施設、B施設それぞれにおいて、患者5名づつ計10名を対象に面接を行っていく予定である。
