本研究は、交通外傷等で増加している若年の高次脳機能障害者の残遺症状に対応した在宅生活にけるアクティビティ（日常性の中にある健康に関連する活動）の現状を査定し、多彩な残遺症状を示す高次脳機能障害者に必要な健康的で「アクティブな生活」を維持・増進するプログラムを開発することを目的とする。具体的には、①50代以下の年齢層における経年的なアクティビティの変化とその要因の同定、②若年高次脳機能障害のアクティビティの評価指標の開発、③残遺症状ごとに有用なアクティブティを上げるプランを策定し、評価することが研究の全体計画である。令和3年度～4年度は、50歳以下の年齢層にある対象のアクティビティの変化とその要因の同定することを年度目標として医療機関を退院していく事例のアクティビティを在宅へ訪問し、面接法でデータ収集する計画をしていたが、コロナ禍にあって当事者の在宅への訪問や面接はかなわなかった。そのために、データ収集方法を再検討し、対象の認知している障害状況、生活環境、家族の支援状況等の項目を整理した。できるだけ、面接法をもちることを基本に据えて、1年間コロナの感染状況の様子を見ていったが、直接対面での調査は今年度も難しかった。そこで、質問紙法に切り替え、コロナの終息を待ってデータ収集を進めるよう検討しているところである。令和4年度の実績としては、対象となる高次脳機能障害のある人とその家族の会に継続して参与し、家族の生活状況について交流会を通して関係性の構築に努めた。また一部は、学会で、家族会とともに看護職に向けて情報発信を実際に行った。また、関連テーマを、研究協力者とともに研究成果として学会発表を行った。
