2020年度から発症している新型コロナウイルス感染症(COVID-19)の要因により2022年度も研究を進めることができなかった。2022年10月から研究データ収集を再開したが、再び12月から翌年2月にかけてCOVID-19の感染者増加によりデータ収集を中断した。研究対象者が急性期の総合病院の外来がん患者（がんサバイバー）であるため、施設側の感染対策として患者への介入研究は許可されなかった。この研究は4カ月間、外来で患者フォローするため継続研究が困難になった。現在、2023年3月末からデータ収集を再開しており、データ終了まで１年以上を要するため、研究継続が必要である。従って、今後２年間、研究延長せざるを得ない状況にある。
