本年度はCovid-19の影響がだいぶ無くなったものの、コロナ前後でのデータ比較となるべくデータが出揃っておらず文献やインターネットによる調査を実施し、個別のミュージアムへの調査なども実施しているもののデータ分析が限定的となっている。そのため対外的に発表・報告できるような成果を出すまで至っていない。現時点でスポーツミュージアムを取り巻く環境は厳しいものの、2024年パリオリンピック・パラリンピックの選考会が始まっていることや、大学スポーツの制限解除により、中京大学や早稲田大学のように大学付属のスポーツミュージアムの存在感が大きくなっていることが明らかになった。オリンピック関連の展示や所属学生への注目と合わせて、対外的な発信が行われていることが影響している。また、特にコロナ禍を経てリニューアルやSNSで積極的に情報発信している施設では取り組みに加えて、愛好者を巻き込んで集客につながる動きも出てきている。秋田県能代市の能代バスケミュージアムでは、映画「SLAM DUNK」のヒットから、作中に登場する高校のモデルとなった高校のある地域として、関連する展示や情報発信により、近隣諸国からの問い合わせや来訪者が増えている。過去の来館者数の2倍のペースで推移している。これはコンテンツツーリズムにおける「聖地巡礼」の可能性をみることができる。今後、これらについてさらに詳しく調査を行いケーススタディとしての成果発表に切り替えていく予定である。
