项目摘要

本研究課題の目的は、人間言語に見られるDe Seという解釈の形態統語的要因を明らかにすることです。De Seは、話し手の態度表出のあり方に関わる概念で、言語の根幹をなす重要概念です。本研究は、日本語や英語のデータを用いて「どのような形態統語的要因がDe Se解釈を可能にするのか、もしくは義務付けるのか」を確認しようとするものです。2022年度は、前年度に着目したIndexicality（指標性）（e.g. Schlenker 2003）やPoint of View（視点）（e.g. Speas and Tenny 2003）などの概念が具体的に言語化されている現象として、日本語の埋込文における「-たい」（例：行きたい）「-よう」（例：行こう）「-ように」（例：行くように）「こと」（例：行くこと）や代名詞「自分」の振る舞いに着目しました。具体的には、上記の各要素が埋込文に出現することが、義務的de se解釈の派生にどのように影響を与えるかを確認するために、日本語母語話者を対象とするインフォーマント調査を計画・実施しました（2022年8月）。その成果の一部を30th Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conferenceにてポスター発表しました（2023年3月）。そこでは、特に日本語の語尾「-たい」と「-よう」に着目して、こういった要素が持つIndexicality（指標性）・Modality（モダリティ）・義務的de se解釈の関係を明らかにしました。また、英語の義務的コントロール構文の一部にも、その分析を拡張することが可能であると示唆しました。この発表の内容は、当該学会のプロシーディングス論文として執筆・投稿予定です。
