项目摘要

本研究の目的は、「日本の公立小学校の教室内で、学級担任（HRT）、外国人指導助手（ALT）そして児童がどのように関わり合いながら英語を学び、教えているか」ということについて、実際の教室内での三者のインタラクションを会話分析的・教室談話分析的に分析し明らかにし、これを小学校英語教育の更なる充実に貢献させることである。本研究の事前調査として、申請者は補助教員として2013年度まで地域の小学校で授業中の支援をしながら実地調査を行った。更に、2020年度からの英語正式教科化への移行期間であった2019年に、再び研究対象校を訪問し追加調査を行った。その後、新型コロナウィルスの影響で対象校への訪問に制限があり、2022年度は教育委員会へのインタビュー調査を行った。加えて、2022度はこれまでに収集したデータを元に教室内インタラクション分析を更に深め、文献研究も進めながら、英語正式教科化後の教室内インタラクション分析結果との比較に備えた。調査の結果、学級担任、ALT、そして児童の三者は、共通語としての英語（English as a lingua franca: ELF）を使用する状況において、あらゆる言語的・非言語的資源を使い、互いの関係を良好に保ちつつ、英語学習に取り組んでいることが分かった。一方で、文化的背景知識の違いや各々が持つ固定観念が要因となり、三者間で誤解が生じる場面も見られた。また、教育委員会へのインタビューでは、以前から所謂英語圏以外の国からも積極的にALTを採用してきた経緯を聞くことができ、ALTの多様性についても調査を進めることができた。これらの調査をもとに、研究結果を学術誌に投稿したり学会にて発表したりすることで、より効果的な教師教育に関する提案をし、日本の小学校英語教育に貢献したいと考えるため、国際学会にて合計2本の研究発表を行い、1本の学術論文を投稿した。

The purpose of this study is to analyze the three aspects of classroom conversation in Japanese public primary schools: classroom teacher, HRT, ALT, and children's English teacher and teacher. English education in primary schools has been greatly improved. The preliminary survey of this study was conducted in 2013, and the applicant was asked to provide support to teachers in primary schools in the region. In addition, during the transition period of English formal education in 2020, additional research will be conducted in 2019. The impact of the new model on school visits will be limited, and the 2022 Education Commission will conduct a survey. In addition, in 2022, we will collect more data, deepen the analysis of information in the classroom, make progress in literature research, and prepare for the comparison of the results of information analysis in the classroom after the formal teaching of English. The results of the survey, academic level, ALT, and children's three aspects, common language and English as a lingua franca (ELF), use of language, non-verbal resources, and good relationship between them, and English learning. The background knowledge of one party and culture is not consistent with each other. The fixed idea is due to the misunderstanding between the three parties. The Board of Education has adopted a number of positive ALT measures in countries other than the English language, including the diversity of ALT. In total, 2 research papers and 1 academic paper were submitted to the International Society for the Study of English Language Education in Japanese Primary Schools.
