当該年度（3年度目）は、主に、本研究課題に関連する次の成果を取りまとめた。①合併に伴うサービス統廃合が企業利潤と消費者便益にもたらす影響の研究；②異なる輸送サービスを提供する船社が提携することにより、そのサービスがどのように変容するかの研究；③利用可能な航空サービスが複数ある都市において、双方の補完性が機能するための施策の分析①の研究は、品質と費用の異なるそれぞれのサービスを供給する2社の航空会社が合併するにあたって、どのようなサービスに統合すると企業利潤が拡大できるか、消費者にとって望ましいかを米国のデータを用いて分析した。2種類のサービスが存続する場合にお互いの顧客と利潤を共喰いすることを示し、一方に統合される場合において企業と消費者にとっての望ましさが一致しない場合があることを比較した。この研究は当該年度に出版された書籍の一部に収録された。②の研究は、ハブ・スポーク型（2区間を中間で結節するもの）とマルチ・ポート・コール型（各地を順に寄港していくもの）と呼ばれる異なる航路サービスを提供している船社が提携した場合に、サービスがどちらに統合されるかを理論的に示した研究である。実際の市場では前者への集約が観察されており、先行研究の多くでは大型船の導入によってその傾向が進むと示されてきたが、本研究では企業提携によってもそれが生じることを示した。この研究は国際学術誌に投稿・査読対応を行ない、当該年度末の時点でminor revision（軽微な修正の要求）の判断を受けている。③の研究は、都市単位でサービスを捉えている。一方の空港が機能喪失した場合に、代替として近隣の他空港の利用を促すための補助金の有効性について分析したものである。本研究は査読を経て学内紀要論集に収録された。また、既存のデータセットに他期間のデータを追加することで、昨年度の分析の改善と充実を図った。
