The project aims at the research of until now unknown medieval music fragments from monasteries of Württemberg in the holdings of the Württembergische Landesbibliothek Stuttgart and the Staatsarchv Ludwigsburg. After investigating ca. 1.100 fragments of the Hauptstaatsarchiv Stuttgart in the running project ca. 700 fragments of the WLB and the StAL which complement these findings will be investigated in the proposed continuation of the project.Open acces will be provided via the webportal „Fragmentarium“. A printed catalogue will present the catalogue entries as well as photographs of selected fragments. The project time is set to 24 months. The project in total will provide new insights into the until today only partly known or totally unknown musical medieval culture of monasteries in Württemberg prior to the destruction of many mansucripts during the implementation of the reformation 1537 in Württemberg.
