本研究は、知的障害を伴わない発達障害者の成人期きょうだいの体験と支援のニーズについて、きょうだいの当事者性と家族システムに着目し質的な検討を行うことを目的としている。具体的には、①知的障害を伴わない発達障害者の成人期きょうだいへのインタビュー調査、②発達障害者の親への質問紙・インタビュー調査を主な軸として、きょうだいの体験を明らかにすると同時に、家族を一つのシステムとして包括的に捉えることで障害者家族への理解を深め、きょうだいを含めた家族全体のニーズに応じた支援の構築を目指している。2022年度は、主に②発達障害者の親への質問紙調査をWEB上で行った。詳細は現在分析中であるが、障害のある子どもとそのきょうだいをもつ親へ広く調査を行い、成人期の現在抱えている困難について明らかにすると同時に、将来展望についても尋ね、それらにきょうだいの存在はどのように関与しているかについて検討を行っている。親から見たきょうだいの姿を明らかにすることで、家族システムの全体像を描写する試みであるが、障害の程度や種別によって、親がきょうだいに期待することにも違いがみられる可能性があることが示唆されている。また特に施設入所等の対象にはならないが自立に不安がある子どもとその家族の状況についても明らかになりつつある。また以上の②に並行して、①と②のインタビュー調査実施の準備も進めており、質問紙調査と照らし合わせながら障害者家族についての多面的な検討を引き続き行う予定である。
