新型コロナウイルス感染症のため、バングラデシュで行う研究計画にも遅れが出ている。今年度は、ヒ素を測定する予定のバングラデシュでの研究機関と測定方法や費用などについて交渉をバングラデシュの研究協力者が行った。バングラデシュの研究協力者が日本で開催される国際学会に参加したため、学会会場にて、研究についての会議を行い、今年度中にフィールド調査ができるような予定を立てた。バングラデシュでの研究協力機関で倫理申請を行うための文書を英語で作成し、申請を行ったが、倫理委員会よりベンガル語での書類の作成依頼などがあり、研究協力者にその部分をお願いし、時間を要した。コロナウイルス流行状況によっては、担当事務所が一時閉鎖されるなどの予定が遅れる要因があった。予定では、今年度にフィールド調査を実施する予定であったが、未だにバングラデシュの研究協力機関での倫理申請中の段階である。倫理申請が終わり次第、前回研究参加者に対して、ヒ素と認知機能に関するフィールド調査を実施する予定である。
