项目摘要

2022年度は渡航制限の一部解除により、研究対象国（東南アジアを中心とする途上国）におけるフィールド調査が可能となった。研究テーマの変更はないが、研究が進むにしたがい本研究の題名が示すような「性的マイノリティ」（sexual minority)の多角的理解が必要であるとの認識に至り、広くSOGI(sexual orientation and gendenr identity)（性的指向及びジェンダー自認）の多様性に分析の視点を当てなおすことにより、本研究の方向性が明確化した。テーマの特殊性から所属機関や氏名を伏せること条件にする関係者も少なくなく、そのとりまとめ方法には最大の注意を払った。また、2023年3月には英国放送協会（BBC）により、日本の有力芸能事務所による未成年・児童に対する性加害が報道されたことにより、問題の本質は途上国のみにあらず、日本社会にも根深く存在することを認識させられることとなった。本調査の主要な視座であるdevelopmentは、単に経済的な発展レベルないし開発レベルを意味するのではなく、仏教界では「開発」（かいほつ）という概念として人間の内面・精神面における成長を含めた意味合いを持つ。その点、心理学でのdevelopmentの射程とも符合する。イスラム圏におけるSOGI分析として、マレーシア及びモロッコを取り上げた。パラオ（人口の8割がキリスト教）を現地調査としたのは、2021年度までにネットで調査した国（フィリピン、タイ、台湾）以外にも視点を拡げることとしたことである。パラオの法律では、イスラム教国（マレーシア、モロッコなど）と異なり同性愛は非合法ではないが、伝統的な家族の価値観が重要視されており、人々が自身の性的指向やジェンダーについて話すことはないが、その背景を探るためである。成果は、法と経済学会（2022年10月、ソウル大学）で発表した。
