项目摘要

当初の研究計画のとおり、2022年8月27日から9月23日の4週間にわたり、イラク・クルディスタン地域スレイマニア県において土器新石器時代遺跡であるシャイフ・マリフ2号丘の発掘調査を実施した。紀元前6000年前後の文化層が検出され、土器、石器をはじめとする貴重な考古資料を獲得することができた。また、調査期間中にはUAVを用いた地形測量を実施し、遺跡立地環境の詳細な情報を得ることができた。発掘調査によって出土した考古資料の分析からは、シャフリゾール平原南部における土器新石器時代集落の地域性が確かめられた。これは、すでに調査がされている近隣のシャカル・テペ遺跡でも確かめられていた事実であり、当該地域における都市化直前の時期において、これまで知られていたザグロス山麓の新石器文化伝統とは異なる物質文化の伝統が存在したことがあきらかになった。また、2023年2月に、本研究課題の研究協力者であるマンチェスター大学の研究者が来日し、シャカル・テペ遺跡、シャイフ・マリフ遺跡から出土した黒曜石製石器の産地同定分析を実施した。携帯型蛍光X線分析装置を用いた分析によって、遺跡から出土する黒曜石のほとんどが南東アナトリアの原産地から運ばれてきたものであることがあきらかになり、これらの遺跡と北方地域の交流の実態があきらかになった。3月には、研究分担者数名が現地に収蔵されている出土資料分析のため再度イラク・クルディスタンに出向き、2週間ほど滞在して土器の分析を実施した。本年度の研究成果は、日本西アジア考古学会第30回発掘調査報告会で口頭発表するとともに、Ancient Civilizations and Cultural Resources誌において論考を公表した。
