项目摘要

本研究は、主として琉球王国時代の葬墓制資料から琉球史を再構築することを目的とする。対象とする葬墓制資料とは、墓の出土品、葬儀に関わる古文書、あるいは民俗調査記録などの総称として用いる。主に①銘書及びその周辺の文書や金石文資料を用いた身分、中央と地方、家族史など近世社会に焦点をあてた実践的研究。②被葬者である人骨等資料を用いた理化学的分析と食事や健康、婚姻や子ども、平均余命やライフコースに焦点をあてた研究。③葬墓制資料のデータ化を推進し、地域や時代ごとの比較資料の拡充。④文化財科学による顔料や漆喰などの分析及び画像の解析などの博物館等収蔵資料の鮮鋭化及び資料化と分析。考古学にはもとより文献史学、民俗学、自然人類学、保存科学の垣根を越え、新しい琉球史の再構築を目指すことを目標としている。本年度は、現地調査として県外に所在する厨子甕の収集及び、今帰仁村の池城墓の調査を行った。研究分析として、厨子に記載される銘書資料を用い、死亡・洗骨年が記された紀年銘厨子を利用し、死去年の件数から人口動態研究に関する予備的研究を行った。他に研究集会をオンラインで実施した。分担者の主な研究実績に限り以下に記載する。分担者である日下は、前田・経塚近世墓群とヤッチのガマより出土した髪の毛資料の炭素・窒素同位体分析を行った。その結果、続成作用などの影響は残るものの、全体としてはC3生態系の陸上植物や陸上哺乳類の摂取割合が高い傾向が復元された。このデータ解析やメンバー内での会議で結果の共有を行い、課題を整理した。分担者である武井は、子孫たち自らの手によって近世琉球王国の士の一門の歴史がいかに表象されるか学会発表した。近世琉球における姓・家系のあり方や女性の役割について、東アジアの比較家族研究および儒教研究の文脈で考察し分担執筆する。他各分担者でそれぞれ資料整理と分析を進めた。
