研究実施計画では，2021年度は既存データを用いて日・豪の大学教員の勤務実態を把握し，豪については教育担当教員というポストを設置することになった経緯やその間の議論に関する資料収集，日本については高等教育政策等における大学教員の分業に関する議論の把握をすることを予定していた。コロナ感染症拡大の影響で豪での資料収集が困難だったため，ネット上で入手可能な資料の収集にとどまった。主には各大学における大学教員の役割分化の制度化状況の確認と関連するポリシーや制度に関する情報，高等教育関連の法規定や政策文書，統計を収集した。また，豪の高等教育政策の変遷や質保証システム，大学教授職，教育担当教員を対象とする論文を収集しレビューした。国内に関しては，教員インタビュー，情報収集と先行研究のレビューを行った。国内インタビューでは，スノーボールサンプリングで様々な分野やキャリアステージの教員を抽出し，豪における役割分化した雇用制度を日本でも起こりうるシナリオとして提示し，想定しうる影響について聞き取った。インタビュー結果を報告・議論するために7月に研究会を実施した。情報収集としては，各大学の教育や教員倫理に関する文書，教員に関連する学則等，学校基本調査をはじめとする各種統計を対象とした。また，日本の大学教員の雇用実態に関する先行研究や大学教員制度の見直しに関しての政策関連文書などのレビューをした。これらの結果は今後論文や学会発表の形で報告する予定である。
