2022年度は、知的障害のある人を対象として、ジョイント・アクションの特徴を明らかにするため、サイモン課題を用いた実験を行なった。サイモン課題では、色が異なるキャラクターをコンピュータ画面上に表示し、参加者にはキャラクターの色に応じた反応ボタンを押すことを求める。具体的には、赤のキャラクターに対しては反応デバイスの左側のボタンを、青のキャラクターには右側のボタンを押すことを求めた。キャラクターは画面上の左右いずれかの位置に出現するが、これは反応を決める手がかりではない。つまりキャラクターの色が反応関連情報、キャラクターの出現位置は非関連情報である。しかしキャラクターの出現位置（右か左）が押すべきボタンの位置（右か左）と一致しているとき（compatible条件）と一致していないとき（incompatible条件）を比較すると、前者の反応時間は後者よりも短くなる。つまり反応時間が非関連情報の影響を受けることが知られており、これをサイモン効果と言う。このサイモン効果は、単独でサイモン課題に取り組む際に観察されるものだが、二人が共同してサイモン課題に取り組む際（一方が赤、もう一方が青のボタンを担当するなど）にも観察されることが知られており、これは目的を共有して課題に取り組む二人に、課題の表象が共有されているために生じる現象と捉えられている。知的障害者を対象とした測定の結果、知的障害者においても単独で課題に取り組む場合だけでなく、共同サイモン課題においてサイモン効果が見られることが確認された。またこの効果の大きさは、単独で課題に取り組んだ場合よりも、共同で取り組んだ場合の方が大きかった。この点について、共同で取り組むことが課題表象の明確化につながる可能性があると考えられた。
