(1)2022年度に引き続き県/年齢コホート別パネルデータに、厚生労働省『賃金構造基本統計調査』の賃金データを取り入れて分析を継続した。また、(3)にある厚生労働省からの情報提供を取り入れた分析を行った。基本的な含意は、2022年度までの発見と変わらない。戦時中の特定年齢コホートの男性の減少は、戦後当該都道府県の農業従事者を一時的に増やし製造業の発展に負の影響をもたらしたが、その効果は中長期的には消失したことが確かめられた。この際、産業間の影響のみならず産業内の男女シェアの変化をも分析対象に取り入れ、若年男子人口の減少は確かに各産業内の女性比率を上昇させたこともわかった。(2)現段階の結果をもとに2022年度までに作成したプレゼンテーション用の材料を改訂するとともに、本文もほぼ完成させた。また、欧州において同様の研究に従事しているフランスやスペインの研究者との連絡も継続した。また、国内各所、Asian and Australasian Society of Labour Economics や NBER Japan Project Meeting で報告し、テクニカルな点のみならず論文構成上の点についてもコメントが得られた。(3)都道府県別各歳別戦死者数については、厚生労働省に残されている戦死者関係の資料の電子複製から集計できないかを担当部局と断続的に協議し、一部情報を受け取ることができた。詳細については厚生労働省の担当者の了解が得られ次第公表する。また、各都道府県の援護課への資料残存についての照会を一通り実施し、資料が残存する県も一部存在することがわかった。
