2022年度はまず中国に拠点を置く鄭幸氏、研究分担者陳他3名により、古城坦堂『雑録』の研究をリモートで行った。また斯道文庫収蔵の今関家資料につき、分担者堀川が整理を進捗、今関氏による五山文学研究の存在等を明かにした。次で日米間の渡航制限が緩和されたことから、7月31-8月8日に代表者がカリフォルニア大学バークレー校東アジア図書館（以下UCB, EAL）での調査を実行、今関旧蔵等22部123冊の書誌と画像を取得した。この間、EAL及び同校東アジア言語文化学科（以下EALC）のジョナサンズウィッカー氏と協議、年度内に2度の研究集会を共催することを決めた。帰国後に分担者矢島、外部若手研究者2名と計4名の調査チームを設定、9月11-19日にUCBを再訪し30部394冊の調査撮影を行った。この際、今関コレクションデータベースを用い成果の質を高めた。また9月15日、EALにズウィッカー氏とEALCの大学院生等を招き、和刻本漢籍に関するレクチュアと学術交流を行った。帰国後それまでの調査結果をフィードバックする研究集会を計画し、前記チームに組織内外各1名の調査者を加えた6名の拡大チームを編成、2023年3月19-27日に3度目の調査を実施した。この際52部352冊を取り扱い、計104部869冊の書誌調査を完了した。この調査に合わせ米国から1名、日本から2名の外部研究者を招き、内部からブライアンスタイニンガー氏他4名が参加して、3月24日に国際研究集会 The Transformation of Sino-Japanese Culture under Modernity: Reconstructing the Imazeki Tenpo (1882-1970) Sinology Collection at the Berkeley library をUCBと共催、今関研究の意義を確認した。
