本研究の課題は、タイ・バンコクを事例に、インフォーマリティを巡る包接と排除のダイナミズムとその衝突の様相を明らかにすることである。都市における生産・再生産の議論を架橋するための新しい理論的アプローチを模索・構築しながら、バンコクにおいて詳細なフィールド調査を実施し、基課題（基盤研究A:「インフォーマル化するアジア」）に実証的基盤を提供することを目指している。2022年度の実績は以下の通りである。第1に、コロナ禍の影響で変更・延期をしていた在外研究や調査を、2022年度に実施した。8月についてタイ・バンコクにてインタビュー調査やデータ分析を進めた。また、ロンドンスクールオブエコノミクス（LSE)については、積み残しであった残り4か月の在外研究を10月から1月にかけて実施した（客員教授）。第2には、これらの渡航機関の間に、インタビュー調査や理論的サーベイを進めるのと同時に、関連領域の研究者との議論の場やネットワーク構築の機会を多く持つことができた。コロナ禍での渡航制限が緩和されたため、LSEには世界中から研究者が訪れるようになっており、10月にはギグエコノミーに関するワークショップで司会の一部を分担した。また基課題や将来の共同研究の可能性について、具体的な検討や準備が進んだ。第3に、ジュネーブの国際労働機関（ILO）を訪れ、基課題、および本課題の実証研究に関する中間経過を共有し、2023年度に共催でワークショップなどを行うことで合意した。第4に、タマサート大学のNattapong先生らとバンコク内の格差の動向と労働市場の再編に関する分析を進め、その成果の一部を国際タイ学会で報告した（5月）。バンコクにおけるジェントリフィケーションに関してはLSEからワーキングペーパーを刊行し（5月）都市のウェルビーイングと社会ネットワークに関しては研究報告を実施した（LSE、1月）。
