项目摘要

本研究では、日本で法的に保護された無形文化遺産に関して、包括的なジェンダー分析を行った。具体的には、無形文化遺産における性別の状況（男女比率、性別の表現、性別による制限された参加の頻度、およびその他の関連要因）を分析し、無形文化遺産における男女間ギャップを評価することを目指した。調査対象として、日本国内の6都県における国指定・選択の無形文化遺産を想定してたが、新型コロナ禍によって調査不可能な期間もあったために、それ以外の地域や地域に根差さない無形文化財をも対象とした。特に民俗芸能の１ジャンルである「神楽」については、島根県において女性だけで活動する団体について詳細な調査を行った。また岩手県の神楽団体では１名のみ女性が参加する状況を調査し、神楽が持つ信仰的な意義や継承の問題など民俗芸能が抱える根本的な課題とジェンダーとを絡めて論じることができた。このような調査は、ジェンダー問題を喚起するのみならず、日本の無形文化遺産保護の実情や課題を論じるための基礎資料として英語を用いて海外に発信する点においても、大きな意義をもたらした。これらの研究成果を踏まえ、最終的な結論として①保護対象である無形文化遺産における包括的なジェンダー分析、②新たな無形文化遺産インベントリー作成の提案、の２点を提示した。前者は、既存の保護システムの状態と既存のジェンダー状況との格差への注意喚起に貢献し、それ自体がジェンダー意識を高める意義があり、後者は、将来的に無形文化遺産条約を改善するにあたって、ユネスコと締約国にとって重要な参考資料として貢献できるものである。これらの成果は、ジェンダー平等の主流化に関心のある締約国にとっても有用となり得よう。成果については、英語での論述を基本としつつ、一部を翻訳し、東京文化財研究所発行の『無形文化遺産研究報告』に掲載した。

This study analyzes the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Japan, including the protection of intangible cultural heritage. Specific gender aspects of intangible cultural heritage (male/female ratio, gender performance, gender constraints, frequency of participation, and other factors) are analyzed and intangible cultural heritage is evaluated. Intangible cultural heritage in Japan, designated by the State and selected by the State Special folk culture can be divided into 1 group and 2 groups. A survey of the participation of women in the Iwate Shrine, the significance of the belief in the shrine, the problems of the inheritance of the folklore, and the fundamental issues of the relationship between the two. This survey raises questions about the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Japan. The results of this research are summarized as follows: (1) Analysis of intangible cultural heritage protection objectives,(2) Proposal for new intangible cultural heritage development, and (3) Suggestions. The former is the status of the existing intangible cultural heritage, and the status of the existing intangible cultural heritage. The results of the study are relevant to the mainstreaming of equality among States parties. The results were published in the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Report" published by the Tokyo Institute of Cultural Property
