项目摘要

前半期は、コロナ禍の水際対策で海外調査が困難なため国内調査のみ行ったが、後半期から段階的に海外調査が可能になり研究が進展し、研究代表者・研究分担者・研究協力者が学会等で研究成果を発表した。国内調査では、高山寺所蔵土宜法龍資料から重要な新資料を発見した。米国の調査での新発見資料に関する成果発表として、他の科研費と共催で公開ワークショップをオンライン開催した。また、本科研への海外研究者からの反響が大きいことから、研究成果を日本宗教学会の英語学会誌に投稿する計画を進めることとした。さらに、昨年度に目録を完成させたルース・フラー・佐々木資料を、上七軒文庫から研究代表者の所属する南山大学南山宗教文化研究所に移管した。主な研究実績は下記の通り。1）高山寺所蔵土宜法龍資料から土宜がシカゴ世界宗教会議に出席した際の日記を新たに発見し、解題と翻刻を発表した。海外調査で、アメリカで禅布教に貢献した佐々木指月と千崎如幻に関する新資料を発見し、研究成果の中間報告として他の科研費（基盤研究(C)20K00412、基盤研究(C)20K00525、若手研究21K12852）との共催でオンラインワークショップを2023年3月5日に開催した。国内外の研究機関から53名の参加があり、宗教学、文学、アメリカ研究など学際的な領域から有益なフィードバックを得られた。2）所属学会等にてエリアーデ、東方仏教徒協会等に関する学会発表と、仏教グローバル化に関する学術論文等を発表した。3）Religious Studies in Japan誌に英語論文を投稿する計画を立てた。4）ルース・フラー・佐々木資料と蔵書を上七軒文庫から南山宗教文化研究所へ移管した。ただし、建物のカビ・害虫対策が課題である。5）研究代表者・研究分担者・研究協力者が学術論文を11本、学会発表を17本を発表し、図書を3冊（のべ4冊）刊行した。
