项目摘要

本研究は、アンリ・べルクソンの形而上学に対し、現代の分析的な手法を用いて体系的な理解を与えることを目的とし、 (I) 関連するべルクソンのテクストの詳細な解釈、(II)その成果と分析哲学的な議論の対照を通じた整理・検証の二つの観点から平行的に考察を進めるものである。本年度は、（I）『意識の直接与件についての試論』および『物質と記憶』のテクスト解釈、（II）現代の知覚論の観点からの考察を行った。以下順に概要を記載する。（I）ベルクソン哲学の起源は、宇宙がもし二倍・三倍と加速したとすれば、科学はそれを検出できないが、意識にはそれがわかるという趣旨の思考実験にある。（a）この思考実験が、『試論』出版当時、どういった文脈の下で提起されたものかを明確にすることで、ベルクソンの考察の強調点はどこにあったかを明らかにし、（b）『物質と記憶』第四章で提示される、一見したところ『試論』の議論とは無関係に思われる一連の考察が、実際には宇宙加速の思考実験を反転させたものであることを指摘した上で、その厳密な解釈を通じて、宇宙の加速の際に意識にはどういった現象がもたらされるのか、またそれはいかにして可能なのかという問いに一定の応答を与えた。（II）分析的な知覚論の代表的な立場のうち、『物質と記憶』の知覚論に関係するものとして、（1）センスデータ説、（2）志向説、（3）選言説の三つをとりあげ検証した。（1）はベルクソンの想定論敵のひとりであったイポリット・テーヌ『知性論』の立場、（2）は（『物質と記憶』が規定する意味での）実在論者（とりわけデカルト）に相当すること、（3）はベルクソン自身の立場に近いことを確認した上で、典型的な選言説が抱える錯覚の理解についての困難を検討することで、『物質と記憶』のハイブリッドな知覚論を、素朴でない直接実在論として位置付けた。
