项目摘要

平成28年度は、思弁的実在論の中心トピック、（1）汎心論、（2）時空間論、（3）カント哲学を念頭におきつつ、ベルクソン形而上学を再提示する作業を行った。（1）については、『物質と記憶』の第一章のテクストを詳細に検討した。同書の中心を成しているイマージュという特異な概念にかんする先行研究は、形而上学的解釈と経験的解釈の二つに大別可能である。イマージュとは、後者によれば、私たちが日常的に知覚する対象のことであるが、前者によれば、私たちの経験から独立にそれ自体で存在し、かつ一定の感覚質を有する形而上学的対象とされる。既存の解釈はこれら二つの理解のどちらか一方を重視し、他方を軽視ないし還元してしまう。しかし、同書第一章の議論は経験的な記述から始めて形而上学的記述に至るという構成になっていると考えれば、二つの観点は可能であることを、テクストの正確な理解の提示を通じて明らかにした。（2）については、ベルクソンの主張の現代的な観点からの擁護を試みた。『物質と記憶』は、私たちは外的対象を直接知覚しているというある種の直接実在論を提起しているが、ベルクソン自身は、積極的に自説の擁護をしていない。そこで、想定される反論の一つであるタイムラグ論法に応じることを通じて、彼の時空論の明確化を試みた。（3）に関しては、『物質と記憶』の記憶力理論と、『純粋理性批判』の認識論の比較検討を行った。『物質と記憶』第四章によれば、私たちの日常的な知覚が呈する質は、膨大な量の物質の振動が、特殊な形式の記憶力によって収縮されることで生じるものである。ところで、こうした量と質の関係についての議論は、カント『純粋理性批判』にもその類型を見出すことができる。そこで、この論点についてのメイヤスーの批判を念頭におきつつ、量概念の改変という観点から、ベルクソン形而上学がいかにしてカント認識論を克服しているかを検討した。
