研究Ⅰでは、生活保護ケースワーカーにおけるストレス要因が精神的健康に及ぼす影響に対してみられるストレス対処や組織的対処の緩衝効果を検討した。結果として、ストレス要因と精神的健康との関係において、ストレス対処や組織的対処の緩衝効果はみられなかった。しかしながら、ストレス要因について生活保護利用者との関わりややりがいの低さ、知識不足が精神的健康を損ねる可能性が示唆された。コーピングについては、気分転換や視点を切り替えることは精神的健康に貢献しうる一方で、回避や我慢することは精神的健康を損ねるリスクがあることが示された。組織的対処の精神的健康に対する関連はみられなかった。次に、研究Ⅱでは生活保護ケースワーカーのストレス要因が否定的業務認識を媒介して精神的健康及び生産性に与える仮説モデルを検討した。その結果、やりがいの低さが利用者の数値的把握による多忙認識を媒介し、精神的健康を損なわせ、生産性を低下させていた。また、知識不足であることは直接的、間接的に精神的健康と生産性を低下させていた。最後に、研究Ⅲでは生活保護ケースワーカーを対象とした構造的なストレス対処や戦略を提案することを目指した。結果として生活保護ケースワーカー、管理職者、臨床心理士の3つの社会的立場から、未だ明らかにされていないストレス対処や戦略について明らかにした。その結果、個人内対処（認知や行動）、個人間対処（利用者や関連機関）、組織的対処（上司や同僚あるいは専門職）、立場の活用といった幅広い次元の対処戦略が報告された。以上の3つの研究を行うことで、生活保護ケースワーカーのストレス要因を軽減することを目指して、生活保護ケースワーカーにおける利用者をとりまくコミュニケーション戦略を見出した。
