本研究の目的は、ゴングの一種である鉦を用いることを特色とする佐賀県の民俗芸能の県内における分布と音楽的特徴を明らかにするとともに、伝承状況の調査を通じて、現代の日本社会において民俗芸能に与えられた意味を考察することである。2021年度には、現地での聞き取り調査を主に行った。また、研究成果の発信として、学会誌への投稿を1回と、学会発表を1回行った。本研究に関わる2021年度の調査は、佐賀県において、以下の期間に行ったものである。2021年7月25日から8月15日、2021年8月20日から9月30日、2021年11月1日から11月23日。鉦を用いる民俗芸能「北志田の浮立」を伝承している佐賀県嬉野市塩田町の北志田地区の住民への聞き取り調査や、地区内の行事やイベント、小中学生を対象とした笛の練習における参与観察、北志田地区に隣接する南志田地区の笛奏者のもとでの笛の習得、自主的な浮立の練習会の企画、佐賀県立図書館等における文献調査を行った。調査に赴いていない期間には、博士論文の執筆に向けて収集資料の整理や分析を行った。2020年と2021年には、一度も浮立の奉納が行われていないだけでなく、新型コロナウイルス感染症流行の影響から「大人数で室内に集まることができない」という理由で鉦や太鼓の練習が行われておらず、本来の祭りや行事の様相だけでなく、アンサンブルの実態についてもまだ調査できていない状態にある。しかしながら、笛の練習への参与観察や、自主的な浮立の練習会を行ったことによって、調査地の住民との関係を築くことができた。

The purpose of this study is to investigate the distribution and characteristics of folk music in Saga Prefecture, and to explore the implications of folk music in modern Japanese society.
