项目摘要

本研究の目的は，感覚情報間に存在する潜在的な法則性（感覚間協応）が視覚と聴覚の統合に与える効果，およびその個人特性について明らかにすることであった。令和2年度の研究では，「高い位置の視覚刺激ほど高い音と結びつきやすい」という協応関係（位置と音高の協応）が，視聴覚の時間的な統合やその経時的変化の過程において広く影響していることが示唆された。この結果を受けて令和3年度は，以下の2点についてさらなる検討を行った。(1)位置と音高の協応に整合する視聴覚刺激のペアは不整合な刺激ペアと比べて，時間ずれのある視聴覚刺激の統合が生じやすくなることが先行研究で報告されており，前年度の研究でもこの知見を支持する結果が得られた。本年度はこの知見について「空間上のどの場所に注意を向けるか」といった要因が交絡している可能性を見出し，この要因を考慮した心理物理実験を行った。その結果，先行研究や前年度の研究で見られた効果は注意の効果を統制すると消失することが明らかになり，位置と音高の協応は注意機能に影響する一方で視聴覚の時間的統合には寄与していない可能性が新たに示された。(2)「小さな視覚刺激ほど高い音と結びつきやすい」という協応関係（大きさと音高の協応）が視聴覚統合に与える影響について，位置と音高の協応の場合と同様の検討を行った。その結果，視聴覚の時間的な統合やその経時的変化の過程において大きさと音高の協応の影響は見られず，協応の種類によって感覚統合への影響は異なる可能性が新たに示された。本年度の研究では個人特性に関する検討は十分に行えなかったものの，上記2点の検討を通して感覚間協応と感覚統合の関係について新たに有益な知見を得ることができた。これらの成果については国内の学会で発表し（優秀発表賞を受賞），原著論文として国際ジャーナルに採択・掲載されたことから，研究成果が対外的に認められたといえる。
