项目摘要

本研究は、アンデス文明の形成に大きな役割を果たした、山岳アンデス・熱帯アマゾンという異なる環境帯の交流の実相を、その中間に位置するワヌコ盆地の地域動態を通じて明らかにすることをねらいとするものである。ワヌコ盆地の物質文化は、両地域の融合が見られる特異なものとして知られてきたが、基盤となる編年研究の遅れにより、周辺地域との交流関係の詳細な推移や、それと相互に影響する地域の社会動態は明らかにされてこなかった。そこで本研究ではまず、当地域の高精度の地域編年を構築し、それにもとづいて新たに遺跡分布調査を実施することとした。本年度は発掘調査を実施する予定であったが、新型コロナウィルスの世界的な流行により、現地に直接赴きフィールドワークを実施することができなかった。そのため、現地の協力者と連携し、2016-2019 年に実施された調査プロジェクトの資料分析を行なった。まず出土土器の整理・図化を行い、これらのデータと先行研究の報告データをもとにして、詳細な型式学的分析を行なった。また、これと14C年代のベイズ分析による年代解析を組み合わせることにより、精緻な地域編年が構築され、ワヌコ盆地の前二千年紀はこれまでの２時期編年から７時期まで細分された。その結果、ワヌコ盆地における山地と熱帯低地の土器伝統の関係は従来考えられていた以上に複雑であり、在地的変容や複数地域からの異なるタイミングでの外来要素の導入などが複雑にからみ合っているものであることが示された。この成果は、当該分野の研究の新たな基盤となるとともに、文明形成プロセスの初期におけるアンデス・アマゾン間の地域間交流の実相の詳細な解明に向けた大きな一歩となった。

This study focuses on the formation of civilization, the interaction between mountains and rivers, and the regional dynamics of the basin.
