项目摘要

本研究は、ミシェル・フーコーの「知の考古学」の研究理論を援用しながら、「言説形成＝編成」概念の明確化を図ることによって独自の「知の考古学」的方法論を確立すること、及び、その方法を歴史資料やフィールドワークによって収集したデータの分析に活用し、考古学者が地層から過去の遺物を発掘してその時代の生活様式を復元するように、過去のある社会における価値観や思考傾向を復元するものであり、この人文学研究としてはこれまであまり試みてこなかった研究を世に広める試みである。「知の考古学」的方法論の理論的な構築については、すでに発表した論文から理論部分を抽出するとともに、それを簡潔にまとめて作成した論文を「『「近代化」の反復と多様性』の方法論について――「東と西」の知の考古学的解体に関する研究――」として令和4年7月30日発売の『月刊　考古学ジャーナル　7』に掲載し、公表を行った。また、「知の考古学」的方法の具体的な実践については、英領インドにおける植民地政策とインド表象の構築、白人優位の世界システムへの植民地域の取り込みと、そのようなアジアの植民地化に直面した日本の近代化の促進と対抗言説の創出に関しての研究、及び、日本の植民地政策の一環である「日本・日本語化」について研究を行うとともに、さらに、そのように逸早く独自の言説形成を開始した日本が太平洋戦争の敗戦を機にGHQの占領政策によってアメリカの言説編成にいかに取り込まれていったかについて、イギリス、インド、そして日本の3方向の視点から、共時的及び通時的に、日・英の植民地政策とアジア表象の形成・変遷、GHQの日本占領政策、及び植民地統治下にあるアジア地域の土着性の変容について俯瞰的に比較研究を行っており、令和３年度までの研究成果を『「近代」の反復と多様性――「東と西」の知の考古学的解体――』として令和3年6月1日に出版した。
