2022年度では、いまだコロナ禍の打ち続くおりであり、資料収集・実物調査の柱の一つである公共の図書館・文書館・資料館などでの調査が効率的に行うことができなかったため研究計画遂行上の情報のインプットが大幅に制約を受けることとなった。このため、これまでの調査・研究の成果を論文の形で発表することに重点を置くこととした。これは、最終年度である次年度において中心的に取り組むべき成果公表を一部前倒しすることによって本研究計画の健全な遂行を企図することとしたものである。また、節用集史を概観する過程で「その終焉期である大正・昭和初期において、いかなる辞書群が台頭し、節用集に取って代わったかを明らかにする」との課題のあることに思い至り、実用辞典（各語を歴史的仮名遣ではなく発音準拠の五十音順に配列し、簡易な語釈と対訳外国語・ペン字書体を併示したもの）に注目するという新たな展望も開けた。具体的な成果物としては、言語生活史と節用集の関わりの闡明を企図したもの１点、節用集付録たる日用教養記事の研究として地図類について検討を加えたもの２点、昭和戦前期の日本における節用集認識を検討したもの２点、節用集にとってかわるかのように昭和初頭に勃興した実用辞典（詳細は後述）の様相記述１点、昭和期での実用辞典刊行目録（約200点掲載）１点を公にすることができた。なお、資料収集の手段である購入状況としては、古書即売会などは集会の制限が緩和されたことや、野外での開催も可能であることから、幾分かは実行することができた。また、インターネットを介しての資料購入もコロナ禍の制約を受けつつも一定量を確保したが、実際の購入量については、近世節用集では低調だったが、これに代わって実用辞典の購入が新たな資料収集の対象となり、一定の成果を得た。
